offering New Yorkers a taste of Venezuela’s most iconic dishes.

Cachapas y Mas is a family owned and operated restaurant dedicated to serving fresh, traditional Venezuelan staples in a warm and casual setting. Since 2008, we have made it our mission to offer New Yorkers a taste of Venezuela’s most iconic dishes. We take pride in our unique Venezuelan street food menu - think buns made out of fried plantains filled with slow roasted pork and sweet corn pancakes filled with mouthwatering Venezuelan cheese.

Inwood has a magnificent collection of cafes selling stuffed arepas and other street snacks. Cachapas y Mas is one of the best, a gleaming fast food spot done up in garish shades of orange and green with a dancing ear of corn as its mascot.

Cachapas are the star of the show here, but the fast-food-style fried arepas are worth a try, too.

If you haven’t discovered the Venezuelan versions of the sandwich, a visit to Cachapas y Mas is a must.

The version served at Cachapas y Mas is about as big as a hubcap, and comes folded over such ingredients as roast pork, chorizo, grilled chicken, and shredded beef. We almost always get a side of yoyos too, twin slices of plantain smooshed with cheese, dipped in egg, and fried.
